Before you buy: This is a 100W ceramic heat emitter (CHE) — it produces heat without visible light. It is the heat source, not the fixture. You need a heat-resistant ceramic-socket reptile fixture rated for at least 100W.

• Required fixture: Ceramic-socket reptile heat fixture rated for 100W or higher
• Works in a 75W-max fixture: No
• Works in a 150W-max ceramic fixture: Yes
• Produces visible light: No
• Nighttime heat: Suitable when light-free supplemental heat is appropriate for the species
• Temperature control: Use an appropriate thermostat/controller; a compatible dimming control may also be used when permitted by the fixture/controller manufacturer

Easy compatibility rule

Your fixture's maximum wattage must be equal to or greater than 100W and it must be designed to safely handle high-heat reptile lamps/ceramic emitters. Do not install this emitter in a fixture rated below 100W.

Safety: Ceramic heat emitters become extremely hot. Keep the emitter outside the animal's reach, maintain manufacturer-recommended clearances, monitor enclosure temperatures and follow species-specific heating requirements.
