Start with the type of fish you keep
Look for food made for your fish’s main group. Tropical fish food is a good starting point for many community aquariums. Bettas, cichlids, goldfish, koi, and marine fish each have their own food choices. A food made for the right type of fish is more useful than a one-size-fits-all option.
- Bettas: choose small pellets or foods sized for bettas.
- Cichlids: pick the pellet size and formula made for their feeding habits.

Match the food to where your fish eat
